The Muktarpur Bridge is a road crossing spanning the Dhaleshwari River in Munshiganj with two traffic lanes and 37 sections held up by 36 pillars. The structure allows river traffic to pass underneath while carrying vehicles across the water.

Construction of this bridge began in 2005 and finished in 2008, becoming the sixth Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge project. The project marked an important step in improving transport links between regions.

The bridge links rural farming communities with markets in Dhaka, making it easier for local producers to sell their goods. This connection has become part of daily life for people moving between countryside and city.

The bridge is designed to allow large river boats to pass under it safely, so water traffic continues to flow alongside road traffic. Keep in mind this is an active transport route used heavily by vehicles and trucks moving goods between regions.

This crossing was one of several partnerships between Bangladesh and China to improve national infrastructure, bringing in expertise and resources from abroad. The bridge shows how international cooperation can reshape local communities and their connection to the wider country.
