De Kruisverheffingskerk toont kenmerkende elementen van de Russische Revival-architectuur met koepels en gedetailleerde religieuze iconografie.
De kerk, opgericht in 1686, werd tijdens de Sovjetperiode omgevormd tot tractorwerkplaats en opslagplaats voor landbouwmaterialen.
De kerk houdt oosters-orthodoxe diensten en handhaaft traditionele praktijken volgens de Russisch-orthodoxe kalender en gebruiken.
Gelegen op 65 kilometer ten noordwesten van Moskou in het district Istrinsky, verwelkomt de kerk bezoekers met interesse in religieuze architectuur.
Het gebouw onderging een opmerkelijke transformatie van zijn oorspronkelijke functie naar industrieel gebruik en terug naar religieuze instelling.
