Anne of Brittany Bridge

The Anne of Brittany Bridge is a steel structure that spans the Loire River, measuring 160 meters in length and linking Nantes' city center to the Isle of Nantes. The bridge features a simple modern design that allows vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists to cross between the two banks of the river.

This bridge opened in 1975 and takes its name from Anne of Brittany, a 15th-century duchess who ruled Brittany and became queen of France through two royal marriages. The naming reflects the region's historical ties to this important medieval figure.

The structure represents an essential link between the historic districts and the creative district of Nantes, facilitating movement between cultural venues and exhibitions.
