Bishop's Castle, Middeleeuwse marktstad in Shropshire, Engeland
Bishop's Castle strekt zich uit over een steile heuvel met meer dan 160 monumentale gebouwen die Tudor en Georgiaanse architectuurelementen vertonen.
Het oorspronkelijke motte-en-bailey kasteel werd in 1085 gebouwd door de Bisschop van Hereford ter verdediging tegen Welse invallen.
De stad handhaaft een wekelijkse markttraditie sinds 1249 en viert jaarlijkse evenementen zoals de Michaelismarkt en het Bierfestival.
Bezoekers vinden onderdak in The Three Tuns en Castle Hotel, terwijl het SpArC-complex sportfaciliteiten en ruimtes voor voorstellingen biedt.
Het gerestaureerde stadhuis uit 1760 fungeert als centraal punt waar lokale markten en ambachtsbeurzen het hele jaar door plaatsvinden.
